What we hold

Short, honest privacy policy. What we store, how we use it, and what we never take.

What we collect when you add a trip:

  • Your flights (airline, flight numbers, dates, origin, destination)
  • Cabin class and number of seats
  • Total paid (the receipt total)
  • Confirmation number and last name (needed to file with the airline)
  • Your email address (to notify you if the fare drops)
  • Optionally, your mobile number (for text alerts)

What we use it for: We watch the fare for the same flights in the same cabin. If it drops, we file with the airline as your agent using your confirmation and last name. We email you when we file and when the credit lands.

How long we keep it: Until your trip flies or until you ask us to delete it. After your flight departs, we keep the watch record for our own records (to track what worked and what didn't) but we don't use your confirmation or last name after the trip ends.

What we never take:

  • Your airline password or MileagePlus login
  • 2FA codes or one-time passwords
  • Access to your email inbox (unless you explicitly forward us a confirmation)
  • Payment card details (we don't have a live card processor yet; when we do, card data goes through a secure processor, not our servers)

Email forwards: If you forward a confirmation to trips@fareward.com, we receive that one email. We parse the flight details from it. We do not connect to your inbox, read other emails, or see anything beyond what you choose to forward.

Who sees your data: Fareward staff who need it to watch fares and file changes. We do not sell your data. We do not share it with advertisers. When we file with the airline as your agent, we send them your confirmation, last name, and the new fare request — that's what the airline's change process requires.

No live payment processor yet: If we send you an invoice, it will be via email. When we integrate a payment processor, it will be a secure third-party service (like Stripe). Your card details will go to them, not to us.

Your rights: You can ask us to delete your trip data anytime by emailing us. You can revoke authorization for us to act as your agent. If you're in California, the EU, or another jurisdiction with data protection laws, you have the rights those laws grant (access, correction, deletion, portability).
